Commercial solar for Newcastle shops, offices, workshops, warehouses and industrial sites, designed and installed by our licensed electricians. Clear, free proposal first.
Commercial solar can help reduce the amount of electricity your business buys from the grid during the day. This can be useful for businesses with regular daytime power use, such as offices, workshops, warehouses, farms and retail sites.
The savings will depend on your system size, energy use, electricity rates, roof position, shade and how much solar power your business uses as it is generated.
Power prices can be difficult for businesses to plan around. Solar may help reduce exposure to rising energy costs by producing part of your electricity onsite.
Commercial solar can also be planned with future needs in mind, including business growth, battery storage, new machinery or EV charging.
Many businesses want to reduce their environmental impact. Solar can help lower grid energy use and support cleaner business operations.
For some customers, commercial solar may also improve the way their business is viewed by clients, staff and the local community.
Commercial solar is not just about putting panels on a roof. It is about designing a system that suits the way your business uses power.
A small office or shopfront may need a simple rooftop system to take the edge off everyday bills. A warehouse or workshop in an industrial area like Mayfield, Tomago or Beresfield may need a larger system to support lighting, equipment and air conditioning. Sites with a lot of daytime load, cool rooms or long operating hours often get the most from solar.
Our team can look at your electricity bills, site layout and daily power use and recommend a suitable system. We also explain what affects your installation cost, including roof condition, system size, panel output, inverter selection, cabling, safety requirements and any switchboard work needed. See our switchboard upgrades page if your board needs attention first.
Harris Electrical & Solar has offices in Newcastle and Singleton and installs commercial solar for businesses across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Cessnock and surrounding areas.
Every business uses power differently. Some trade through standard hours, while others start early, run late or run machinery across long shifts. When we design commercial solar panels for a Newcastle business, we look at roof direction, shade, access, electrical demand, switchboard condition, site safety and future needs. We can also talk through battery-ready options, EV charger planning and upgrades to an existing system.
If you are comparing commercial solar installers in Newcastle, pick a team that understands both solar and electrical work. That is us. We are CEC accredited, our electricians are licensed and we stand behind our work.
Reduce operating costs and improve energy efficiency with a commercial solar system designed around your site, energy usage, and business goals.
Our team will assess your premises, review your power requirements, and recommend a tailored solar solution that helps your business lower electricity bills, improve sustainability, and get long-term value from your investment.
Our licensed electricians work across commercial, industrial, rural and domestic sites. This means we understand more than just panel installation. We also understand the electrical systems that commercial solar connects to.
This matters for businesses with larger switchboards, machinery, three-phase power, data needs, safety requirements or future expansion plans. We take time to assess the site properly before recommending a solar system.
We know that commercial solar pricing can feel confusing. System sizes, panel brands, inverter options, rebates, finance options and expected savings can all affect the final decision.
Our team explains the process in plain English. We can help you understand what is included, what may cost extra, and which parts of the system are most important for your site. We aim to give you useful advice, not pressure.
We provide solar solutions for shops, offices, workshops, sheds, farms, warehouses, hospitality venues and industrial sites. We can also assist with solar maintenance, EV charger installation and electrical upgrades that may be needed before or during installation.
Having one local team for solar and electrical work can make the process simpler for business owners and property managers.
With quality solar panels, suitable inverters and the right design, your business can make better use of daytime power and reduce ongoing electricity costs.
From retail spaces and offices to farms, sheds, warehouses and industrial properties across Singleton, Maitland, Newcastle and the wider Hunter Valley, Harris Electrical & Solar provides practical commercial solar services with clear advice and safe installation.

Replace existing light with ceiling fans . Excellent job , the electricians were very friendly and respectful of my home and very tidy. I was very grateful and impressed that my job was brought forward by 3 days due to another job of theirs completing early. The entire experience from our initial phone enquiry to scheduling and final install was seamless. We will definitely recommend them to anyone needing work done. Thanks GuysPosted on Google![]()

Highly recommend Harris Electrical and Solar! They recently installed a Sigenergy solar system for us, and the entire experience was outstanding. The team was incredibly professional, friendly, and took the time to explain how everything works, including setting up the mySigen monitoring app. The installation itself is neat, tidy, and running perfectly. It is rare to find a team that combines top-tier technical expertise with such great customer service. Thank you for a fantastic job!Posted on Google![]()

Harris Electrical are amazing. Despite not installing our off-grid system. They were able to help us over the phone and then when it wasn't the system issue but something else they came out with a generator (in case) on a Sat evening to help restore power. Then they trained us on the system so we can be more self sufficient and followed through with check-ins over the coming days. I am highly impressed especially after the lack of service given to us by the original installer.Posted on Google![]()

2 years ago we had a 10kw solar system & 8 kw inverter installed at our house by Harris Electrical & Solar.Kyle did a great job of designing the Solar System to suit our house perfectly, and organising everything to get the job done including switchboard modifications and HWS timer.Kyle spent a lot of time explaining how the system works and what we needed for the best system for us.The installation team were very professional and did a great job, very neat. The system works perfectly & were very happy with it,so 2 years later in August 2026 we asked Kyle about adding a battery. He designed a great system that suits our house and existing solar system. Also with a gateway for black out protection. It is all running really well & our electricity bill is tracking very low which is what we wanted. We would like to thank Kyle and the Harris Electrical and Solar team for their great work and we would highly recommend Harris Electrical and Solar.Posted on Google![]()

I've held off writing this review because I know you only get to do ONE Google review per business, and for such a huge investment, I wanted to give everyone (both the business and the review readers) the benefit of a full, complete and time-tested review. Cooper and the team installed our ground-mounted, 21.6kW Solaredge solar system in April 2023. We were huge electricity users at that stage, with underfloor heating (our main heating source for Winter) being a big chunk of our annual 38MW usage. With the prices of electricity starting to increase hand over fist, we had to think of better solutions to our needs. The solar system definitely helped our situation and kept our electricity costs at bay, despite price increase after increase. But I'll admit it was when Cooper and the team installed our 48kW Sigenergy battery in August 2025 that really tipped things in our favour, together with our moving over to Amber Electricity as our electricity provider, and being willing to monitor and utilise the wholesale electricity market. We also added a fireplace in June 2025 to move away from relying on the underfloor heating, as firewood on our property is free. Before any of these changes, our average monthly electricity bills were $476 from April 2019 to April 2023 (no adjustment for increases on earlier bills or for inflation). Since August last year, with the battery installed and being with Amber, our TOTAL cost with Amber for the last year has been a credit of $21.72. No, I'm not kidding. And that's the total cost, including daily supply charges and Amber's subscription fees. So we paid NOTHING for electricity and being connected to the grid, over the last year. In terms of payback periods, our high-end system (including ground-mounted solar, battery, blackout backup, relays to control the underfloor heating, all meterbox work and the fireplace installed) was not cheap, however from where we were previously and at the electricity prices we were paying in August 2025, our payback period on the whole lot is LESS THAN 5 YEARS. And if we separate the fireplace out and reduce our annual usage to take that into account, our solar system + battery still comes in at around 8-9 years payback, which is still pretty good (considering the bells and whistles it has, the quality, and the ground-mounting adding about $25k alone to the total cost). With regards the workmanship and professionalism of Harris Electrical & Solar, and the quality of the products installed, definitely 5 star! Cooper is wonderfully friendly, insanely knowledgeable and happy to explain things to me in the minute detail that my brain needs. The crew are so friendly and skilled and an absolute pleasure to have working here. They do a stellar job and leave the site wonderfully clean. There were, as there often are, some teething issues, but the guys came back whenever required and worked them out to get everything functioning properly. The concrete baseboard under the battery cracked when the battery was first installed, which was cosmetic only, but they focussed on getting the system up and running, and then return at a later date to take it apart, replace the baseboard and have it all working again by that same afternoon. We even had a power blackout the very first night that the battery was installed but were blissfully unaware, as the blackout backup on the battery kicked in without even a flicker - we were only alerted to the blackout when our neighbours saw our lights on and sent us a text! So yes, I VERY highly recommend Cooper and the team at Harris Electrical & Solar. We have been and will continue to be returning customers. And I love that they're local and focused on ongoing relationships with their clients, not just to get your money for an install and then forget you. Bravo, guys .. you've been instrumental in helping us massively reduce our electricity costs, immediately and well into the future.
